SUMMER RIDING PROGRam 2019

Registration for Summer Riding Program 2019 is now open! Some weeks fill up quick, so reserve your child's space today!

Open to all riders ages 4-16. Our program is based in the United States Pony Club principles of riding and horse management. Our focus is on safety and developing a happy and knowledgeable connection between kids and horses. We aim to develop correct, basic skills in riding and horsemanship in a safe, supervised, and nurturing environment with individualized attention.

Having the correct core skills in riding gives kids confidence to continue to improve and empowers them to work toward the goals they set.  As their confidence and skills improve, the lessons become more advanced. Kids come home empowered by what they've achieved in their day! Our summer program is a fabulous introduction to the Pony Club method of horsemanship and riding principles. Our goal is that your child will continue to enjoy horses long into the future!

WHAT TO BRING

Healthy, full lunch and a water bottle each day - label everything with your name. We have a fridge to store lunches.

ASTM approved riding helmet and appropriate footwear are required to ride (we recommend paddock boots but boots with a small heel and hard toe are fine as long as they are comfortable and fit the stirrups safely). Children must have long pants to ride (jeans or jodhpurs are appropriate).

Sunblock is necessary in the summer! Sandals are not permitted at any time at the farm. Sneakers may be worn when not working directly around horses or riding, but we find kids are happy wearing their paddock boots through the day and that's a safer choice.

Long hair must be tied up in a pony tail or braid.

daily schedule

Each day you will be greeted and checked in. Program includes a riding lesson each day, unmounted instruction in horsemanship, participating in or learning about all aspects of horse and farm care, a nice time for lunch with their friends and teachers, and horse related crafts and games. Children will be able to have more advanced experiences and lessons as they progress through the summer. Each child must be signed out at the end of the day by a parent/approved guardian.

Each Friday at the end of that week's program we host a mini horse show and a pizza party! This is a fun, no pressure  introduction to showing and a fun way to end their week together.  Parents are encouraged to come watch this fun event to finish up their child's week!
